Project Title:

Empowering and building the capacity of DPOs to effectively influence policy and practice change for the betterment of the lives of children with disabilities and persons with psycho-social and intellectual disabilities.

Project location: Lusaka, Zambia., Livingstone, Zimba and Kazungula in Southern Province

Summary of Project:

The overall goal of this project is to ensure policies, laws and programmes of government are disability friendly and compliant to the requirements of the UNCRPD through effective monitoring, strategic advocacy and capacity building of DPO partners. In the long run the implementation of the policies, laws and programmes will impact on the lives and well-being of persons with disabilities, including those who require more intensive support, through the promotion and protection of their rights and the promotion of their inherent dignity.
