Ngwerere Inclusion Project Launched
Friday 29th January, 2016 was a special day for the people of Ngwerere, North East of Lusaka. A project was launched to promote the rights and social inclusion of children with disabilities. Supported by Disability Africa with technical support from Disability Rights Watch, the project brings together Zambian non-state actors in the area of children with disabilities to establish play schemes in 13 compounds in the area and promote open spaces for children with disabilities to interact with other children. The project also seeks to provide a basis for modelling inclusive approaches to education and rehabilitation and habilitation of children with disabilities. The partners on the project are Zambia Association of Parents for Children with Disabilities and Archie Hinchif Disability Intervention.
